  • About Lisa Mark Photography

My name is Lisa Mark. I am a Rockwood-based wedding and portrait photographer, serving the Greater Toronto Area and abroad. I am married to a wonderful guy named Justin who is also my talented second shooter & business partner. We are a very happy wife & husband photography team, and yes, we LOVE working together!

I like to define my work as Fine Art Wedding Photography. It's a mix of natural moments combined with more fashion-inspired posed work. I capture the emotions of your day, but I also give direction when required. I can be hands-on or completely unobtrusive.

Every couple's needs and wants are different, and I enjoy getting to know each couple to see what their photography experience means to them.

    Cheers,
    Lisa Mark

Arta Gallery & Archeo Restaurant Wedding Photography | Whitney & Geoff

You remember Whitney and Geoff, from their Niagara vineyard engagement session, right?  Well guess what?  These two got married.  Yep, they tied the knot, and they picked the most perfect place to do it.  You see, Geoff (along with is beautiful wife Whitney, who has her own busy career in medicine) has actually opened his own small batch distillery called Dillon’s.  So there was probably no place more perfect than the Distillery District in Toronto for these two to tie the knot.

Let’s back up a bit.  Before their ceremony could begin, everyone needed to get ready.  All the wedding prep happened at the gorgeous Hotel Le Germain Maple Leaf Square in downtown Toronto.  This was the first time we’d been there and wow, it’s lovely!  The rooms were so well designed and different – it was a real pleasure shooting there.  One of my favourite images is of Whitney in the hallway of the hotel – shown in black and white below.  She looked so gorgeous!  Luckily she had a handsome groom to match.  Hair & make-up was done by the talented Ashley Readings, who always does a phenomenal job, and is sweet as anything.

The ceremony took place inside Arta Gallery, which is such a beautiful and unique space for a wedding ceremony.  Whitney & Geoff’s wedding officiant was a good friend to Whitney’s family, which clearly meant a lot to everyone.  I love the image of Whitney’s parents taken between the bride & groom – so sweet.

As you probably know, the Distillery District has lots of great spaces to shoot. We had fun creating images everywhere with this group – in the alleyways, inside Arta, and finally back outside at night time later that evening.

Geoff & Whitney’s reception was held at the gorgeous Archeo Restaurant, which is also located in the heart of the Distillery District.  The cake was particularly cute, featuring a miniature bride & groom and dog, to represent Whitney, Geoff and their pup who was hanging out at home.  As Geoff is a distiller himself, it was a creative and unique idea to have their guests sign a wine barrel instead of a traditional guestbook.  Pretty cool idea and something that will look great in their home!

Congratulations Geoff & Whitney – you are a lovely couple, and you will clearly be very happy together for many years to come.

Cheers,
Lisa & Justin

Miller Lash House Wedding Photography | Victoria & Mack

Presenting the gorgeous wedding of Victoria & Mack, shot last summer in Toronto.  You may remember these two lovebirds from their really cool engagement session we shot at the University of Waterloo, their alma mater.

When we arrived at the beautiful Miller Lash Estate for Victoria & Mack’s big day, we found the ladies and gentlemen of the wedding party getting ready inside the main house.  This was our first time shooting a Miller Lash House wedding in Toronto, and the venue is so unique!  The families held a Chinese tea ceremony in the front room (for which Victoria wore a red Chinese cheongsam dress), and then everyone in the wedding party went outside for the big ‘reveal’ with Mack seeing Victoria for the first time in her white wedding dress.

We had a great time laughing and playing around with everyone in the wedding party and getting lots of hilarious pictures (check out that amazing jump shot the guys asked to take…they each caught an awesome pose mid-air!)

The outdoor ceremony took place behind Miller Lash House, underneath an archway covered in flowers.  Even the aisle was lined with rose petals – so many in fact, that after the ceremony was done, I asked if we could use the petals to throw up into the air for some photos.  I LOVE how these shots turned out – so pretty and fun!

Probably the most memorable part of the night happened when a huge thunder storm approached, and we actually lost power for about half an hour during the reception!  Luckily, the staff handled the storm like pros, and the great attitudes of everyone at the wedding made it a night to remember.  When the power was out, we proceeded to conduct an impromptu ‘photo booth’ setup taking shots of everyone with the bride and groom.  Talk about a wedding reception to remember!

Congratulations to Victoria & Mack – you two are made for each other and we so lovely to work with.  We wish you all the very best in your life together.

Cheers,
Lisa & Justin
