Last Boudoir Contest Winner – Kait’s Session!

As some of you long-time readers may remember, when I wanted to get my start in Boudoir Photography, I decided to have a contest on a local wedding message board called FrugalBride.com

I had a competition and asked everyone who entered for a free boudoir session (including hair and make-up by Tania Beattie from Brides Etc.) to send me their story of why they should be the one to win the free session.  Well, I couldn’t pick between three of them so I awarded three free sessions!

The third winner, Kait, has a very busy schedule and lives up North, and so we only JUST coordinated some time for her to come to Toronto and do the shoot with Tania and I.  Here is Kait’s contest-winning entry answering the question “Why do you deserve the free Boudoir session?”:

“Hmmm, well, I guess the simplest answer is that we have a different marriage from most.  My husband of almost 3 weeks is a long haul truck driver and is gone Monday morning when he wakes me up at ridiculous hours to drive him to the yard (about 45 minutes from where we live).  I know its a ridiculous hour because even the sun isn’t willing to make an appearance yet.  I pick him up sometime Friday night or early Saturday morning.  The kicker is that I usually work on Saturdays and Sundays, so we don’t even spend a whole weekend’s time together.

I think you can see where with the limited time we spend together, it’s the things we can do while we are apart that count the most.  One day I walked into the storage closet to find “Hi Katie – I love you” written on the chalkboard on the wall.  Little things like that make up for not having someone to wake up to.  Of course, I haven’t erased it.  Sometimes I need the little things like that to help me through the week when I’m feeling lonely.
You can imagine how pictures of me in his truck could be the same little boost he needs to make it through week and remind him to come home every now and then, LOL.
We love surprising each other and I would love to slip the pictures in with his bag on Monday and let him discover them while he’s gone.”
Congrats Kait!  I hope your hubby flips over your new sexy pics!
